Road update: Junction near Community centre

Cllr Gatt took the task of finding out why signage was removed from the road works over the weekend, and has fed this back to the CDCC to pass to residents.

The response from the Roads Maintenance Departments is as follows.

“Following my recent email to you, I have discussed this matter with the relevant teams. As we are currently carrying out resurfacing works in the area, we requested the temporary removal of the bollards on the island and their replacement with directional signage. Unfortunately, it appears this signage was not in put in place before the time of the incidents, and I sincerely apologise for this oversight.

Seafield Road currently has a convoy system in place with traffic lights and cones to direct traffic, which began on Monday 23rd June. The work is expected to be completed by Friday. Once the traffic management is removed, we will ensure that directional traffic signs are placed on the islands to alert motorists until the bollards can be reinstated.”

Kind regards

Cllr Donald Gatt
