Moray Council (MC) acknowledge the concerns raised by the Cullen & Deskford Community Council (CDCC) in relation to obstructive parking in Cullen.
It is worth noting that MC have a 4 / 5-year backlog of works to be undertaken in respect of Road Traffic Orders.
Moray Council are due to refresh the lines at the crossroads junction at the Cullen Coop this year.
In view of the Emergency Services concerns, MC will also look to prioritise refreshing the yellow lines at the harbour hairpin bend. They are not due to be done this year, though will look at getting those refreshed soonest if permission to bring that forward is given.
The fact that the Emergency Services have raised this as a concern will assist in getting necessary permissions to bring the relining there forward; however, that is likely to still be a number of years.
It is worth noting that similar issues raised by emergency services in other areas of Moray are still looking to be progressed three years afterwards!
CDCC will continue to pursue this, though there needs to be an active Cullen & Deskford Community Council after the current session of Community Council ends in October!
If you would like to continue to see this and other community viewpoints through, please consider becoming a Community Councillor!
