Weather Advisory – Moray Council

Good afternoon,

From our Met Office colleagues:

“Unsettled weather situation will continue well into next week, with persistent rain in some places, snow on high ground, strong winds at times and the potential for some more widespread colder conditions to develop across Scotland early next week, with a return of wintry hazards.

The main watch point is next Tuesday, with the potential for a multi-hazard event (rain, strong winds and snow) to affect much of the UK. This also has the potential to be a named storm but there is a lot of uncertainty in developments at this range.”

We thought it would be helpful to flag this up to you pre-weekend. We will of course be monitoring closely and will activate the Ready Scotland campaign if needed with as much notice as possible.

Weather warnings can be viewed on the Met Office website and Hazard Manager where you can also find some model weather data. Please also see the Flood Guidance Statement for more detailed information on the flood risk across Scotland over the next five days.
