What is the role of a community council in Scotland?
They bring local people together to help make things happen, and many Community Councils protect and promote the identity of their community. They advise, petition, influence and advocate numerous causes and cases of concern on behalf of local communities.
The major element is that they engage with the local community, and are that bridge between residents and the local councillors of Moray Council.
Community Councillors are volunteer position and do not carry any wage or salary. You are reimbursed for out of pocket expenses incurred when carrying out your duties.
