NHS Grampian Pharmacy Practice Committee

Lay Reps – opportunity

Dear Public Involvement Network,

The NHS Grampian Pharmacy Practice Committee (PPC) is currently looking to recruit lay representatives.

The PPC considers applications to establish a new pharmacy contract or major relocation of premises from which pharmaceutical services are provided.

This opportunity requires individuals who are willing to take on the responsibilities that comes with this role.

Lay representatives of the PPC are the only members of the committee with voting rights on whether to grant or decline an application. A number of lay members are required to ensure that there is always adequate representation to cover a hearing. The role involves:

– attending site visits to where the proposed new pharmacy will be located and possibly existing pharmacies in the nearby area(s)

– attending hearings to consider the applications and any objections to the new contract

– vote on whether to grant or decline the applications, based on the evidence provided to the PCC

Training and support will be provided.

If you would be interested in a lay role on the PPC, or have any questions, please get in touch by Wednesday 18th February and we can share more information about the role and the recruitment process.

Best wishes,

Andrea
