ActiveTravel Bike Infrastructure

We want your views on which if any of the options to have Bike parking facilities installed in Cullen.

The community council want to get the community’s view on the proposed installation of Bike Infrastructure in Moray Councils ActiveTravel initiative.

From Google: A “Sheffield frame bike park” refers to a type of bike rack called a “Sheffield cycle stand” or “Sheffield stand”. These stands are characterized by their U-shaped, steel design, offering a secure and stable way to park bicycles. They are named after the city of Sheffield, where they were first pioneered.

Which of these options would you prefer?

Thank you for voting, we will announce the results after the closing date for consultation on the 39th May 2025.

  1. I cannot access the poll on the placement of bicycle racks but strongly agree with comment from David McGubbin and do not think any of the two proposed sites are suitable. As a disability scooter user, those who are fit and able need to consider how much room is required to turn around a scooter to access ramps. To use a bicycle, users must be fit and able, so having to park further away from areas of interest cannot be a problem for them.

  2. Hello,
I have been unable to connect to the survey page and comment or vote.
I would disagree with placing any bicycle rack, especially the yellow bicycle structure, at any of the two proposed sites. Is it possible for you to pass on my thoughts and/or vote for me?
The one beside the Heritage centre would adversely affect disabled buggy users and people with prams.
The other option beside Grampa George’s train I feel would spoil that setting. It is quite amazing how many people stop and take photos of the train or take photos looking out to sea from under the viaduct and I imagine the last thing they want is a bicycle rack in the photo.
There is a piece of grass opposite the train, just round from the chip shop, which I would have thought would be better suited for the bicycle rack.
    Regards,
    David Hay.
